Vitamin PP, or nicotinic acid, is a substance whose contribution to the body's natural supplementation cannot be overestimated. An extension of the abbreviation PP in the usual name of niacin is antipelagic action. This is because a deficiency of the vitamin causes pelagra, a multiform disease involving m. in. severe skin lesions, as well as serious complaints from the nervous system.
In the cosmetics industry, niacin-containing formulations are designed for a multitude of applications. One of the most important properties of vitamin PP is to combat inflammation within the skin, it is particularly effective in acne treatment. Niacin promotes collagen synthesis, so it actually prevents wrinkles and overall skin aging.
Vitamin PP in a systemic sense is an essential ingredient. Maintaining proper levels of nicotinic acid in the body determines the proper functioning of the nervous and muscular systems, as well as stimulating the endocrine system. It is worth mentioning that niacin is recommended for the treatment of chronic dizziness and hypertension. As with vitamin C, excess vitamin PP is effectively excreted from the body. The substance also does not exhibit toxic properties.
