Waxes are esters of higher fatty acids and are an important component of natural cosmetics improving in particular their physical properties.
Ghe main use of waxes is to impart proper lubricity, especially to creams. In addition, the waxes allow them to adhere properly.
In conventional cosmetics, common counterparts are cheap refined petroleum products. They exhibit essentially similar properties to plant waxes, but their side effect is a number of harmful effects.
Synthetic fats have the ability to absorb dust and dirt, which promotes the development of inflammation on the surface of the skin and the formation of acne.
In addition, artificial substances are characterized by permanent impermeability, the consequence of which is the formation of a tight barrier on the surface of the skin that impedes access to nutrients, but also prevents proper gas exchange. Thus, the effects of synthetics can be a deterioration of skin quality, as well as an acceleration of skin aging.
The use of natural plant waxes helps to maintain the proper condition of the skin, as well as to keep it properly moisturized, while giving the skin and hair an aesthetic appearance and healthy shine.
