There are more than 350 species of aloe vera in the world, but in cosmetics the most important is tree aloe, which grows in the sandy and rocky areas of southern Africa.
Aloe vera contains many rich active ingredients. The vitamins A, C and E present in it have an antioxidant function, scavenging free radicals, while chromium, magnesium, potassium and calcium ensure proper biochemical metabolism at various stages of metabolic pathways.
The presence of plant sterols such as lupeol and beta-sitosterol provides anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that enable the use of aloe vera extract in formulations for acne-prone skin.
Increasingly, we can also find aloe vera in anti-aging (anti-aging) cosmetics. The ingredients present in aloe stimulate the activity of fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen and elastin. This makes the skin tighter.
We should also not forget the extraordinary moisturizing properties of aloe vera, which are in wide demand among women with dry and mature skin.
