Carnauba wax

Carnauba wax is a natural product obtained from the leaf surface of the Brazilian palm tree Copernica cerifera, which grows in the northern part of Brazil. In the environment it takes the form of greenish-gray scales.

Undeniably, it is the hardest wax encountered in nature. This property has been used in the food and cosmetics industry. Carnauba wax, which is the most widely used hardener in the production of natural cosmetics, is also used in the preservation of works of art and also in the production of yellow jelly bears and white mint candy wrappers. In cosmetics, they are the primary agent that imparts texture to make-up cosmetics, such as lipsticks, sticks and fluids.

Carnauba wax is also used in the production of creams, where its emollient properties are exploited. Covering the skin surface with a protective layer prevents transdermal water loss. The skin is then properly moisturized, radiant and fresh.
