Stevia is a plant native to South America. Globally, it is particularly valued as a natural replacement for synthetic sweeteners. Stevia contains significant amounts of glycosides, making stevia many times sweeter than saccharin.
In some countries, it even forms the basis of the confectionery industry. However, in addition to its excellent food properties, stevia finds its use in cosmetics.
Stevia shows antibacterial and antifungal properties, which can be successfully used in disinfecting the skin and fighting stubborn dandruff. It has also been proven that this plant has moisturizing properties, which allows the skin to maintain its proper moisture content and thus its healthy texture, smoothness and attractive appearance.
Stevia is also an antioxidant. Its use in cosmetic products ensures the protection of the skin's antioxidant system from free radical damage. This helps reduce the effects of skin aging - minimize the appearance of wrinkles and sagging, and give the skin optimal firmness and a healthy, beautiful appearance.
