Cupuaçù oil

Cupuacu oil (read. kupuash) is made from cold-pressing the seeds of the Theobroma grandiflorum tree, which looks deceptively like a cocoa tree. This tropical tree is commonly found in the Amazon basin and is cultivated in the jungles of Colombia, Bolivia and Peru, as well as in the northern part of Brazil.

This oil contains a high concentration of vitamin E and precious phytosterols such as stigmasterol, beta-sitasterol and campesterol. Plant-derived sterols have high affinity for sterols found in the human body. This contributes to the good tolerance of the substance and its irreplaceable effect on the restoration of the lipid barrier of the epidermis. As a result, the skin is smooth, pleasant to the touch and resistant to micro-trauma.

As an ideal emollient, Cupuacu oil has a long-lasting moisturizing and regenerating effect. The incomparable ability to bind water has contributed to Cupuacu butter being called plant lanolin. In recent years, Cupuacu oil has been classified as a natural UVB sunscreen. Its anti-inflammatory properties are raised.

Due to its biocompatibility with human tissues, this oil does not cause allergic reactions and can be used on any part of the body, including the mucosal and eye areas.
