The use of foreign proteins is considered a highly promising trend in cosmetology. The use of plant proteins is one of the latest yet most promising developments in the cosmetic industry.
Of particular note is phytocollagen, a complex of plant proteins found in plant cells - extensin. Phytocollagens show essential similarity to animal collagen replacing human collagen.
This protein participates in the regenerative processes of the skin, directly responsible for its proper structure. Collagen deficiencies, compounded with age, are behind skin aging, loss of firmness and the formation of wrinkles. While phytocollagen is not a complete alternative to natural collagen, which is the building block of human skin, it is a revolutionary way to stimulate optimal hydration and proper skin surface structure.
