Propolis

Propolis has been known as a healing agent for centuries. Its benefits were already appreciated by the ancient Egyptians, who believed that it had a regenerative and protective effect. For centuries, until modern times, it was used as a disinfectant to treat all kinds of wounds.

Propolis, called bee putty, is a mixture of resins, plant and bee waxes, as well as essential oils. In the composition of propolis a significant content is vitamin E and other trace elements.

Propolis, under natural conditions, is used by bees to seal hives. It takes the form of a viscous, poorly water-soluble, solid substance. In cosmetic applications, propolis is primarily recognized as a powerful and extremely effective bactericide. It is a natural disinfectant ingredient in the care of irritation on the surface of the skin, preventing the development of infections on the surface of the skin. This property is due to propolis the presence of organic compounds - terpenes.

Bee putty, thanks to its significant vitamin E content, is also a good antioxidant, the action of which helps preserve the skin from the effects of accelerated aging caused by the activity of free radicals.
