Vaseline

Vaseline is a mixture of paraffin hydrocarbons. Like mineral oils, it is a by-product of petroleum distillation (natural petroleum jelly) or is obtained by mixing mineral oils with cereazine and petrolatum (artificial petroleum jelly). Vaseline is in the form of a yellow or white smear. White petroleum jelly is obtained by re-purifying yellow petroleum jelly and bleaching it.

Petroleum jelly is odorless and insoluble in water. This product is successfully used for the preservation of leather goods, metals, and is also characterized by high lubricity, which is used in numerous technical applications. Vaseline produces a so-called occlusive layer on the surface it covers, which is tight enough to impede the outflow of water from the epidermis. This process can actually speed up skin regeneration.

Despite its versatile use, including in the cosmetic industry, the use of Vaseline-containing preparations can leave an unpleasant sensation of heaviness and stickiness on the surface of the skin. This is because Vaseline is resistant to absorption.

For the above reasons, all cosmetics from MACROVITA do not contain Vaseline.

As natural products, cosmetics MACROVITA truly care for the body and hair. Cosmetics MACROVITA are friendly to hair and skin, providing it with valuable, natural substances often sourced from organic plantations - free of pesticides and artificial fertilizers.
